Regulations  for (09/10)

RED LAKE WALLEYES: (winter)

Protected Slot:
  All walleyes 17-to 26-inches in length must be immediately released. 

The Daily limit: (4) walleyes under 17 inches in length OR (3) walleyes under 17 inches & (1) walleye over 26 inches.

Tophy Walleye: 
(1) walleye longer than 26 inches may be kept as part of an angler's daily limit.

Possession limit:  An angler's possession limit can not excede their daily limit.


RED LAKE NORTHERN PIKE: (summer/winter)

Protected Slot:
  All northern pike 26-to 40 inches in length must be immediately released. 

The Daily limit: (3) pike under 26 inches in length OR (2) pike under 26 inches & (1) over 40 inches.

Tophy Northern: 
(1) northern pike longer than 40 inches may be kept as part of an angler's daily limit.

Possession limit:  
An angler's possession limit can not excede their daily limit.


CRAPPIE: (summer/winter)

Protected Slot:
  NONE 

The Daily limit: (10)


Boundary Information

Border: ( Stay east of longitudinal coordinate 94° 43' 12.0" W )

Closed Fishing:
  All portions of Red Lake located within the Red Lake Indian Reservation are closed to non-band members.

GPS Compliance: All anglers fishing near the Reservation's border are responsible for knowing their exact location. (Don't guess!)

Border Fine: 
Non-band members crossing into tribal lands are subject to fines & punishment determined by tribal council. (Don't risk it.)
